COVID-19 POLICY AND PROCEDURES
Huntersville United Methodist Church has implemented the following additional guidelines for 2021 and into 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These guidelines are subject to change as additional information becomes available or conditions change.
What to expect from us:
-
Hand sanitizer stations are located at both main entrances & throughout the building.
-
For most official indoor functions, including our Sunday services, everyone is required to wear a mask while entering the building and while in close proximity to others.
-
We have extra masks available, at no charge, at both main entrances should anyone forget theirs at home.
-
We encourage mask wearing for everyone while they are around others in public areas of the building.
-
We currently embrace a "when in doubt, stay out" mindset. All staff, leadership and members are asked to stay home if they are feeling even a little "under the weather".
-
Our church employs a full-time facility person who follows a strict cleaning regimen with Covid in mind. Tables, chairs, floors and doorknobs (and other high-touch surfaces) are disinfected after each use. Restrooms are cleaned and disinfected daily. These areas also receive a bi-weekly (minimally) sanitizing treatment with an electro static sprayer will administers a quick drying mist that has been approved by the FDA and the CDC to kill the Covid-19 virus.
-
In the preschool & children's wing, we have installed a Nu-Calgon 4900-10 iWave-C Commercial Air Cleaner that disinfects air from pollutants through the HVAC in those areas.
What we expect from you:
-
If you (or anyone in your family) is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or generally not feeling well, please stay home. Our Sunday services are live-streamed and most meetings have a Zoom option so no one will miss out.
-
If you self-check your temperature and have a fever of 100 degrees or higher, please consider participating via Zoom or watching via LiveStream. Our church has a good number of children and "seasoned" saints and we want to make sure they feel most safe while with us.
-
If you (or anyone in your family) have attended a meeting or service or have been in close contact with anyone at our church and tested positive for COVID-19, please notify us immediately so we can begin the process of contact tracing for the safety of our members. Close contact is defined as less than 6 feet apart for 15 minutes or longer.
-
A student should not return to school until he/she has been cleared by a healthcare professional to return to school, or they have been fever-free for 48 hours without the use of fever reducing medications and symptoms are significantly improved.
-
By attending one of our services or events, you are agreeing to our COVID-19 Health Agreement.
